The Prescribed Burn Program provides a tool for residents with healthy woodlands and/or prairies to maintain these areas using fire. Prescribed burn management helps improve the health of a woodland or prairie by removing duff, replenishing the soil with nutrients, and by allowing native plants to thrive.

The Prescribed Burn Program Application Fee of $100 must be submitted along with your application and can be paid by credit card over the phone.  A 3% service charge will be applied for all credit card payments.  A check written out to the "Village of Riverwoods" can also be dropped off or mailed to the Village Hall.  

* Prior to submitting this application, please be sure you have previously applied for an Ecological Consultation and have received approval from the Village Ecologist, confirming your qualification for this program.
