Review of the water system and water billing system due to a significant number of complaints about recent water bills…
The most recent water bills have gone out in the last week. In response, we have received an extremely large number of calls questioning the size of the bills. I talked with the utility billing department and with the engineer this morning. We are doing a bottom-up review to see if there is a problem. Our records indicate there was higher usage over the late summer dry months, but we are reviewing: water purchased by the Village; reported water consummation as compared to other suburbs and to past years in Riverwoods; our billing software; water meter reporting software; and every other aspect of the consumption and billing process.
We cannot promise that individual bills will be lowered. We can promise that we will look into the situation to determine what has happened.
