PLAN COMMISSION HEARING NOTICE
Please take notice that the Plan Commission of the Village of Riverwoods will hold a public hearing
on February 7, 2019, at 7:30 p.m., in the Riverwoods Village Hall, 300 Portwine Road, Riverwoods,
Illinois, to consider the application of Engaged Senior Homes, LLC (“Petitioner”), 1509 Mulberry
Drive, Libertyville, Il 60048, concerning the following described subject property, which is a
single family home, commonly known as 2470 Duffy Lane, Riverwoods, Illinois, and legally described
as follows:

Parcel 1: The East 132 Feet of the South Half of the South East Quarter of the North East Quarter
of Section 24, Township 43 North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian in Lake County
Illinois.
Parcel 2: The South 350 Feet of The East 30 Feet of the West 330 Feet of The East 462 Feet of the
South Half of the South East Quarter of the North East Quarter of Section 24, Township 43 North,
Range 11, East of the Third Principal Meridian in Lake County Illinois.
The permanent index number of the subject property is 15-24-200-027-0000. The owner of the subject
property is Norman Eichhorn.
The Plan Commission will consider Petitioner’s application for approval of the subject property for
use and operation by Petitioner as a senior group home (known as a shared housing establishment,
licensed pursuant to the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act, 210 ILCS 9/1 et seq.), in which up
to a maximum of thirteen (13) residents would reside. Such residents must be over 55 years of age and
require assistance when performing activities of daily living. Residents will not drive or have automobiles
on the premises. During daytime hours, two home care aides would be present; one such aide
would be on duty at night. These aides will not be residents at the home. The proposed number
of unrelated persons residing in the subject property would exceed the maximum number allowed by
the Riverwoods Zoning Ordinance, but for a waiver from this limitation, which may be granted to
make necessary and reasonable accommodation to lowering housing barriers for persons with
disabilities, pursuant to Article A of Chapter 11 of Title 9 of the Riverwoods Zoning Ordinance.

If the Plan Commission recommends granting the waiver, the matter will be referred to the Village
Board of Trustees, which may authorize the waiver by adopting an ordinance. The ordinance may include
conditions pertaining to the subject property.

All persons desiring to be heard in support or opposition to the proposal shall be afforded an opportunity
to be heard in person or to submit their statements in writing, or both. Further
information may be obtained from Rob Durning, Riverwoods Director of Community Services
(847-945-3990) or from Mark Slutsky, on behalf of the Petitioner (847-877-3454).
