About Riverwoods
Riverwoods is a secluded, woodlands preservation community, privately managed by 1400 individual landowners. We take that responsibility seriously and are committed to protecting our oasis on the North Shore.
Incorporated in 1959, Riverwoods is the home of major employers including Commerce Clearing House and Morgan Stanley Dean Witter.
Recreation
The village does not have its own recreation department, but has access to neighboring Deerfield recreation services. There is a non resident fee for each program. The Riverwoods Wildlife Preserve and Ryerson Conservation area serve the community.

Most of the Village lies within Deerfield Elementary District #109, which has an enrollment of 2,880 students, and Township High School District #113, which has an enrollment of 2,847 students as two schools: Deerfield and Stevenson High Schools. There are several parochial and private schools in the surrounding communities. View a list of schools.
