In October, the Riverwoods Book Club will be discussing Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus.

All are welcome and light refreshments will be served.

Speaking of books, here are a couple of recommendations that would make great gifts:

• What an Owl Knows by Jennifer Ackerman provides incredible information about owls.
• An Immense World by Ed Yong lays out important information about the harmful effects of two forms of pollution that people can actually do something about--noise and outdoor night lights.
