Statement from Mayor Ford, following Hamas' attack on Israel
The Village of Riverwoods extends our sympathy to all, who have suffered losses as a result of Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israel, recognizing that these terrorist attacks have resulted in an increase in inflammatory and anti-Semitic rhetoric, which is both, disturbing and concerning.
The Village of Riverwoods Police Department is in contact with federal, state, and regional law enforcement partners in monitoring intelligence and implementing additional measures to reassure the safety of our community. We will continue to maintain our vigilance as long as the threat is present.
Riverwoods is a small community of big hearts, who have stood strong through many challenging times, demonstrating camaraderie throughout the COVID lockdown, the Highland Park Independence Day Shooting, the War in Ukraine, and more… Our values of a community will remain solid, yet as the situation unfolds, we realize that some residents may need more than a shoulder.
