Orphans of the Storm Opens Cat Adoption Center in Gurnee
By Jackie Borchew
Orphans of the Storm is proud to announce that it is partnering with Pet Supplies Plus to open and operate a cat adoption center at the newly opened Pet Supplies Plus store on Grand Avenue in Gurnee.
Adult cats that are fully vetted will be offered for adoption every Friday through Sunday. Since the cats are fully vaccinated, spay/neutered and microchipped, the adopter will be able to take their new pet home with them that very day. The selection at the Gurnee adoption center will be the same healthy, friendly and loving selection as is offered at the Riverwoods animal shelter.
As volunteers are trained and all the kinks get worked out, adoption days and hours will be expanded to full time. Orphans is currently looking for volunteers to assist with caring for the cats, introducing them to the customers and helping with adoptions.
The Store is located at 6405 Grand Avenue in Gurnee. The grand opening weekend is planned for Saturday and Sunday, May 30-31, 10am-4pm. If you are a cat lover and interested in becoming involved with Orphans and our new cat adoption center, contact the shelter at 847-945-0235. This is a great opportunity for you to make a difference and help find homes for the stray and abandoned cats from throughout Lake County.
Orphans of the Storm animal shelter is open every day 11am-5pm at 2200 Riverwoods Road. Visit the animals on-line or in person each day.
